The bottom of the image on my new plasma is less than 5 inches above the housing it is mounted on. Mounting the center channel above the screen was not an option. There were a few higher rated center channel speakers, but nearly all were over 5 inches. The only one that wasn't was a 6 ohm speaker and my amp was 8 ohms. So I settled on the compact RM8, which is less than 5 inches tall. Have replaced the 6" Infinity center channel and am completely satisfied with the sound of the RM8. This is the perfect speaker for almost any LCD/PLASMA that needs to be placed on a cabinet (as opposed to wall mounted).
