Hope this lasts a while! I would advise you to remove the bells to be on the safe side to avoid choking!

This is a paper rope scratching post, NOT sisal rope. So just keep that in mind when purchasing. Scratching post for my senior cat and I was just looking at pictures of it until I opened it up I didn't realize it was paper and not sisal lol. what is ok I'll give it a try and my cat might even prefer it to the sisal rope scratching posts, who knows! :) I've only used sisal scratching posts for my cats so far as that's all I've seen in my stores so I'm interested in seeing my cat try it! (The ad says it's paper in many places, but then again, the ad with additional photos says it's sisal, so the seller needs to correct any misrepresentation of sisal so buyers aren't confused!) Maybe I thought to myself that it was sisal at first, I can't remember. I may have looked at this saying next to the photos, where it is mentioned that it is made of sisal. It is smaller than a normal scratching post. So keep in mind that if your cat likes to stand up on its hind legs and scratch the top of the scratching post, it most likely won't be big enough for an adult cat. I understand this is being sold for kittens and not adult cats but I bought this for my older cat who just likes to scratch the bottom of the scratching post as it ages so thought I'd try this short one so there are fewer Waste if I throw it away when she's used up all the bottom as she never scratches the top again. So this could be a good choice for those who have an older cat with arthritis that doesn't find it comfortable to sit/stand on their hind legs to hold on to the top of the scratching post. Why get a tall one and waste most of it when your cat is no longer using her top when there's a short one that's affordable and less wasteful! :D So I thought it would be good to test these pants on my older cat! I didn't attach a toy to it as I don't use a cat toy with bells. Bells on cat toys are a major choking hazard for pets and the manufacturer/seller really shouldn't be using them honestly, especially for kittens who are energetic with toys and not as careful about what they chew/swallow. I can just cut the balloons off so my cats can play with the balloons. by themselves and take off the bells because my cats are too old to want to bang on the hanging toys for a long time. They have arthritis and prefer to play with their toys on the floor. I understand why some people detach their balloons from the sticks they are attached to. The balls are simply knotted. So I see how a cat or kitten that pulls hard on them can eventually tie them together with knots. canceled But hey, cats do that. They destroy toys lol! :P Most cats destroy their toys relatively quickly, especially kittens, so I don't know why people expect cat toys to last lol. My cat toys have always punctured within 6 months of use and usually a lot less and I have to throw them away as they are usually always made with cheap thin plastic/polyester thread filling. it is not safe for cats to accidentally swallow. (It may look like "cotton" or "cloth stuffing" in your cat's toy, but if holes appear in your cat's toys, look closely at the stuffing inside and you'll see that the inside stuffing is actually very flimsy little pieces are plastic. I look for string so I throw away my cat toys once there are holes in them and the stuffing can come out! How can a cat be sure of accidentally swallowing pieces of plastic?!). unfortunately most cat toys are gone. :(My only cat loves these little "superball" type inflatable rubber balls that kids play with. So this is pretty much the only cat toy I've tried that lasts a long time. They dry out and break down over time and I will I have to throw them away before the little pieces start chipping. I don't want my cats to choke it! Despite this, this cat tree was very easy to put together. Screw and washer to place the cat tree on the base (an Allen key is included for screwing on). included so you don't even need a screwdriver) and you just screw the toy balls to the top if you want to use that part of it If you don't want to attach the toy balls to the top I love that you can keep it on and that it comes toy free is still attractive and doesn't look unsightly like "a piece is missing" from above so it's still c h looks good sitting in the living room without toys. revised. :) I hope this paper scratching post won't shatter into millions of little scraps of paper once my cat starts using it. What I suspect will happen. Just like those cardboard scratching posts I tried once. I tried one of these and every time my cats scratched it little bits of cardboard would fall off of it and that's why you ended up with bits of cardboard all over the floor. Even a sisal rope gets dirty over time. I'm hoping these paper scratching posts will last at least a few months and not get too dirty too soon considering only one of my cats will be using them. My other cats use different things to scratch. Don't "share" what they scratch, lol. Everyone likes to have their own favorite item/method to scratch. :P(FYI, some cats ONLY scratch carpets and just don't use scratching posts. And so I taught my only cat who prefers this method of scratching to use some carpets I was okay with scratching ". and her realized immediately that I taught her how to do this and now she never scratches other carpets in our house again. She only uses the carpets that I taught her to scratch. Smart kitty! :) If you have the same problem, contact us Just give us a kitty a carpet or two that you love to scratch, encourage and congratulate them when they scratch it, but tell them no when they scratch the carpet of your house that you don't want them to either scratch, and then place them on "their carpet" to scratch and rub their paws well on "their carpet" rather than imitating them "scratching," and a soothing tone of voice to use while watching them teach this. And they should figure out which rugs are using "their" pretty quickly! And if you have multiple cats that like to scratch on carpets, each of them may need their own "mat." scratch if that's the only way they really enjoy scratching carpets. Cats have a hierarchy in their home and will not always "share" what they scratch as they have scent glands on the pads of their paws that "mark" what is "their". I've had cats that don't use the same scratching posts as other cats in the house, so I had to have more than one scratching post, so it's good if you need an extra scratching post in the house for a cat that doesn't like it, to scratch high on the scratching post! Or, if you have new kittens in your house, they might tear them apart so your other cats don't feel like the kittens are "occupying" their scratching posts! :)
