Doesn't work well for fish and aquatic animals

Good idea, should work but this product doesn't. I've read that various products have had shelf life and temperature issues and while this product claims to be immune to it, it doesn't work because the product is bad or due to poor storage. I contacted the manufacturer (Seachem), which is generally well received by aquarists, but the support was also very poor. Their "support" basically told me to wait 4 weeks for the product to work. If you have ever run a new tank then you know that cycling a new tank typically takes 4 weeks (no addition of bacteria). Basically, the company told me that adding their product to my bike tank was like not adding any product at all. Their customer service representative also made a very eloquent comment. He wrote that the only livestock he would put in a seawater tank while cycling were invertebrates with minimal bioburden. Of course, this is the complete opposite of their bottle statement (where they encourage you to add fish at any time). Basically it doesn't work, really frustratingly poor customer support. I would not buy this product again and neither should you.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
