I bought these boots because where I kayak or swim the coast is very rocky. I need something to protect my feet and to hold on to rocks so I don't fall. These boots do just that and keep you warm. No matter what boots you buy, they cannot meet the demands of all weather conditions without a little modification. The price for them is the same as other manufacturers of similar boots. The features I like are the sole, the side zip and the extra velcro so the zip doesn't get damaged. They also have a reinforced toe and heel that stand comfortably between rocks. The 5mm neoprene will keep you warm even in cold weather when the water temperature is below 50 degrees Fahrenheit. I will be wearing these over my dry suit boots to protect the dry suit and my feet and add a layer of warmth.
