After using the Vicks 1.0 Gallon Cool Mist Humidifier (Vicks 1.0 Gallon Cool Mist Humidifier) for several years I had an idea of what I was looking for. The Vicks fan is powerful and throws out a lot of air. When it was hot in my bedroom, he quickly cooled it down. However, the downside was that we had to constantly change filters. Since it was troublesome, we decided to try the model without a filter. PureGuardian works well but is very different from Vicks. The fog is thrown vertically and in a narrower beam. There are three performance modes, but the fan is not powerful. So instead of fog that spreads out, it creates fog that rises in a narrow cone and mostly falls over a small area. The nozzle at the top is adjustable so you can place it next to your bed and aim the cone at you. But it's not the same. Another difference is that this device is very quiet. Some people like it. But we miss white noise. The night light is very bright and just annoying. Finally, keep in mind that if you use a high setting, items under the humidifier can get wet.
