Review on πŸ’ͺ Enhance Performance with Fluval 304-305 Tune Up Kit by Katrina Scott

Good quality if not very expensive

Anyone who has taken the trouble to evaluate the components of an aquarium filter individually will know that in most cases it is a lot cheaper to buy an aquarium filter. buying the entire filter than the parts that make it up. However, if you're unlikely to buy an entire filter as a "parts basket" for one you already have, then it's still worth getting certain replacement parts that are more likely to break down over time; Parts such as impellers, impeller shafts, impeller covers and canister filter seals should also be saved in case any of these parts fail. This way your filter can be used again in minutes instead of days or weeks. Fluval makes very good canister filters. And the 305 is no exception, provided the owner remembers to change the canister seal every two years (as recommended by Fluval). However, these filters should provide the owner with years of service. As for the Fluval - Eheim (or whatever this author compares to a Ford Chevy) I'm debating which is better, I have both including the three Eheim Classic filters. Reliability, the Eheim Classic Filter is as reliable as any other filter ever made. However, if the canister's rubber seal is not changed regularly, that seal can fail, causing the Eheim to leak, just as any other canister filter can fail for the same reason. .* Ironically, some of Eheim's more expensive, high-tech filters are less reliable than their entry-level Classic filters. In fact, some models of self-priming pumps are prone to leaks and the pumps themselves are not very efficient. And Eheim's absurdly expensive line of thermal filters (canister filters with built-in heaters) has a history of troublesome thermostats that are very expensive to replace, if you can even find those parts in the US. Stocking up on filter replacement parts for your canister filter is just a smart move for a fish farmer.
