Review on πŸ” Roxant Authentic Blackbird HD Spotting Scope with Zoom - Rubber Armored, Fully Multi-Coated Optics + BAK4 Prism. Includes Tripod & Case + Lifetime Replacement by Mark Greenwood

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This morning I used the blackbird to aim my rifle at 100 yards and it worked great. I was able to check and make adjustments after each shot.

Everything in this striking quality. I bought it mainly as a shooting scope. I'm tired of walking 100 meters to see where (or if) I'm going. This morning I used the blackbird to aim my rifle at 100 yards and it worked great. I could check after each shot and adjust my scope accordingly instead of walking to target to see where I'm hitting after each shot. I played around with it a bit at home to get a feel for how it all works. So when I got to the shooting range, it only took me a few seconds to zoom in and focus on it. The images are crystal clear, my first thought as soon as I focused was "Wow, it's in HD!" The stand is solid and I love that you can adjust the stiffness of the pivot points just by turning the knob. The eyecup is comfortable and the eye relief is at the perfect height for me at full extension. Has a nice solid feel to all parts. I'm very happy with it and I'm glad I decided to spend the extra money to get it. I originally intended to buy a cheaper, higher magnification scope, but settled on the Roxant because of its reputation for quality. It was a good decision! Just right size and weight. I don't want it to be lighter because I think that would make it difficult to hold steady with your hand. The build quality is solid and feels very solid. I like the rubber armor coating. It gives a good grip and takes away the worry of scratches or bumps when you put it down. The focus ring has enough stiffness/friction to stay in place but is easy to rotate. Allows you to deliver it where you want without taking it on yourself. The tripod is great. I MUCH prefer the metal of this stand to the plastic. I also like the stiffness of the pivot points on the legs so they stay open as you move them from one place to another. I didn't actually use the guide because it was pretty self-explanatory. Playing with it for a few minutes was enough to get used to it. I've never had binoculars or binoculars or anything like that, and I figured it out pretty easily. The only thing I mentioned in the instructions was the sun visor (I wasn't sure what it was for) and it helped me. The price is very fair and to be honest I expected at least twice as much for the quality I received. I was expecting good quality but was blown away by how good it was. Most likely I will take one of these as a gift for my mother. She loves observing nature and this scope is perfect for that. A few words about magnification. Yes, you can get other higher magnification scopes. I can't speak about their quality because they don't belong to me. I will say that I installed it on my porch and at 36x magnification I was able to read the license plate of a parked car about 300 meters away.
