Sounds good, but noise-cancellation needs work.

Given the name, I would have expected them to be a bit better. I've had Altec Lansing products in the past that have worked really well, but while these headphones are good, they're not great - at least compared to others. I have an old pair of Bose QC15s but of course I don't expect them to live up to that standard. On the other hand, I also have a pair of B07G83NN32 TaoTronics TT-BH047 that cost the same as this Altec Lansing pair and in some respects the TT pair performs better. That's right, TaoTronics - a company that I believe sticks its brand name on someone else's untitled product and sells it as its own since I also own a TaoTronics pressure cooker - competes well with Altec Lansing, which avoids to focus on the kitchen appliance market .on sound. For twice the price, the Altec Lansing earphones offer you a slightly better build quality and a slightly more comfortable feel on the ear cushions. The buttons feel better than the TT buttons, which feel a little flimsy in comparison. The Altec Lansing also folds down to a smaller size than a pair of TTs, which is good for travel. Battery life is good on both, but the Altec Lansings are better because the TT's battery will drain itself if it's not used for a day or so, while I can leave the Altec Lansing for a couple of days and still recharge it. Bass reproduction is slightly better with the Altec Lansings. Overall though, I prefer the sound of the TT headphones as they sound cleaner and crisper at high frequencies. The noise cancellation was another surprise. I took three of my noise-cancelling headphones to work, and this is the perfect environment for them β€” there's a pretty noisy air-conditioning vent right next to my desk. That's what noise cancellation was designed forβ€”constant white noise. The Bose QC15s were arguably the best, only with the music off and noise cancellation on was the sound of the air conditioning almost imperceptible. Both pairs of TT and Altec Lansing reduced, but did not eliminate, the overall noise level heard through the headphones. A few TTs were a little quieter, but none were quiet.
