I roast and smoke meat all the time. I have other thermometers and this is just another one to add to my arsenal. This thermometer has some great features. The handle has a built in cutout so you can hang the thermometer on a hook next to the BBQ or in the kitchen, it also has a magnetic backing if you wish to use it. Excellent performance so you don't lose it. Comes with a spare battery. The coolest feature I think is that it can be used as an instant read thermometer or comes with a second sensor that you can plug into the side and leave in the food to control the cooking process. You can also set a high temperature alarm to notify you when your food reaches its temperature. Very good product and good value for money. Excellent price.
