I bought this stone from Sharping Supplies and it's a great stone but overpriced. It wears off very slowly, buffing and leaving a ridiculous fringe with wear. However, I smoothed it out with broken DMT DiaFlat lapping pads and while perfectly flat, it scratches the surface of the stone. But the Stone's performance seems unhindered and it's still doing a great job. I try not to smooth those 30,000, but when I do I try to smooth them out with a high grit carbon black and keep using it until the scratches are gone. By then though, it's ready to be flattened again, so I'm in a vicious circle! But in any case, it's polished to a high gloss and scratches aren't bad, and that's more of a madness on my part.
