Excellent value! good for me

After getting yet another price increase on our regular 4 micron and 20 micron 18g lapping syringes, I looked for a better deal. I picked up a tube of this to try for polishing our carbide punches and dies and it works like a champ. It is just a bit dry so we add a tiny bit of oil and it cuts quickly. Very impressed and will order up more grit sizes for the rest of the die polishing stations.

Pros
  • Abrasive & Finishing Products
Cons
  • The paste may dry out quickly if not stored properly

Delighted with this product!

The Techdiamond warning about purchasing dyed products of a lesser quality were correct. This 14,000 grit paste put a true mirror finish on knife edges, removing the scratches which were the result of a 10,000 grit sharpening stone. (I used a Dremel tool with a felt tip that was loaded with a small amount of the paste. Voila! Mirror finish!)I had cause to email Techdiamond about an additional order. They responded quickly and comprehensively. Two thumbs up for excellent customer service. Trust…

Deep scratch removed from sapphire crystal

Purchased an Apple Watch with Sapphire Crystal deep scratch, used Scratch Genie didn’t remove this scratch. I saw a video using this grit diamond paste and this worked. This was a very deep scratch and this got the job done. I would very much recommend this product.

Pros
  • USE OUR PRODUCTS AS: polishing compound, stropping compound, epoxy polishing paste, rock polishing compound, lapidary diamond paste, buffing compound, resin polishing, abrasive paste, metal polishing compound, granite compound. Use it both for manual and machine polishing. Best used with the wool buffs or leather strops.
Cons
  • The diamond powder may not be uniformly graded, causing inconsistencies in polishing

Works great for faceting!

I use the 8k for faceting prepolish and it works great. Has an oil base so I use with snake oil extender and the low 10% concentration keeps the lap from getting overloaded. Good stuff.

Pros
  • MADE IN USA: Forget other cheap polishing compounds! TechDiamondTools ultra precise, high strength polishing compounds ensure sustainable quality in any kind of application. Keep away from artificially colored abrasives. TechDiamondTools high-tech diamond compound has no color additives. It facilitates faster cutting and is safe for materials with high permeability.
Cons
  • The product may not be widely available in all regions

Not really doing much for the price

I use this on the bottom of a crystal vase that had started to get less clear than it had been. It did not have any deep scratches, I found the instructions thoroughly but it really practically looks the same as it did before I used it. Tried three or four times. Would not buy again. Does no more than very very fine grit sandpaper, which is less expensive. Send a question to the supplier to see if a finer or coarser grit would help. No response.

Pros
  • Industrial & Scientific
Cons
  • The product may not be suitable for novice users who are not experienced in polishing techniques

Does a great job on a Lansky strop

Lansky has a leather strop that works in their sharpening system. It is very hade to put compounds on. This stuff is perfect for that. The results are fantastic! I have also used this on my full size strops. Again the results are great, but this is a very very small supply of compound. I love every thing about this stuff, except the price! For this much money, you should be getting more product. I very much believe that they pay more for the packaging then for the paste!Be aware that it’s only…

Pros
  • Very easy to apply!
Cons
  • The product may not be suitable for those who are allergic to diamond powder

Good product, great price.

Paste was so thick it did not sink into leather and just sat on surface, but did carry the grit. The high concentration of diamond grit makes this product a good value.

Pros
  • SUITABLE FOR ANY SCENARIO: scratch genie, knife polishing compound, micron paste, mirror repair, glass watch scratch remover, watch polishing, crystal polishing, gun polishing, flattening, sharpening, knife sharpening, stock removal.
Cons
  • The diamond abrasive may not be evenly distributed in the paste, causing streaks or uneven polishing

Didn’t work on my iPhone 14 pro

The product packaging was nice. Easy to use and apply container.I read a previous review stating this specific model removed scratches from an iPhone but I used half of the product and spent about an hour straight with not a single scratch being removed.

Pros
  • OIL-BASED COMPOUND: we offer 1 item 5 gram syringe of industrial quality diamond polishing paste with 50% concentration of diamond powder, professional grade of 600 Grit, 22 to 36 Microns which is most suitable for Stock Removal or Lapping Metals.
Cons
  • The product may require special handling or safety precautions due to the high concentration of diamond powder

Kaboom Polish Paste!

This diamond paste works wonders. When you grind carbide and it has to have a high level polish, this is a reliable paste to use. Once you have the right brush, and apply this paste, you can achieve the finish required. You need to set all your parameters to the correct RPM, depth your product goes into the brush, the RPM of the tool, the RPM of the brush and the length of time they all come together. If you go too far with any of these parameters you’ll find this paste can render a shape out…

Pros
  • Finishing Products
Cons
  • The paste may cause scratches on delicate surfaces if not used carefully

Great product! on my review.

I collect vintage pocket watches and do some of the work on them myself. One of the more persistent problems I've had is cross threading on screw back and bezel cases. Problems can range from severe to "a bit fussy" in threading them on. I've tried making my own sharp gravers to restore the threads, but with limited success. One day I came across a collector that had great success using diamond grit paste 600 and 1500, depending on the severity. I went ahead and got one of each. the…

  • Took scratches out

Works Like a Charm!

This stuff is just what the doctor ordered. I used it to buff scratches out of a sapphire watch crystal, made it look like new!

Pros
  • Finishing Compounds
Cons
  • The grit size may not be suitable for certain types of metal or jewelry

Very effective at removing small scratches!

This product helped me erase small scratches on my Apple Watch screen. Keep in mind, deeper scratches won’t go away, but for milder ones, this works wonders! Definitely worth it for me.

Pros
  • Durable and long-lasting, making it a great investment
Cons
  • The paste may be difficult to remove from some types of equipment

It worked as intended

Too bad I forgot to take a before-and-after pic, but it did remove a nasty scratch from my phone's screen. I learned my lesson to now use a screen protector.I suggest using a power tool with a polishing head for much faster results.I will be keeping this paste in my toolbox from now on.

Pros
  • Great product for removing alittle more material on a strip for convex edged knives!
Cons
  • The product may not work as effectively on certain types of material

Works on Rolex Sapphire Crystal

I hardy leave reviews. I should leave reviews more often but that's another issue. Regardless, I had to for this. I had a nick on the face of my Rolex Datejust. After reading several forums and other reviews I tried this. I used the 3000 grit to remove the nick and 50,000 grit to remove the haze left by the 3000 grit. I used a dremel on the lowest level and a small buffing tip. The nick is completely gone! You CANNOT tell at all it was there. Huge thumbs up!

Pros
  • Ideal for use on a variety of surfaces including rock, glass, metal, jewelry, resin, and marble
Cons
  • The product may not be suitable for use on softer stones or materials

puts a high gloss wet looking shine on my stones

i use this on a flat lap and it works great. i have used it on aquamarine, quartz, obsidian and many other types. as long as the stone is prepped properly, it will take an amazing shine. i have been stopping at 4k or 5k because the finish looks wet, super shiny, and super smooth.

Pros
  • Helps bring out the beauty and detail of materials like marble and resin
Cons
  • The product may not be as effective on fine detailing or intricate designs

Good But Did Not Do the Job.

I bought this to get some scratches out of a mirror, it reduced the scratches but did not completely remove the scratches. The fine scratches were reduced but still visible. I applied it many times with only a limited success. This product is good only for very light scratches on glass surfaces.

Pros
  • Consistent 600 grit mesh ensures a smooth finish
Cons
  • The paste may require additional polishing compounds to achieve the desired finish

I will pre-face this by saying I have purchased many different brands and types of diamond paste over the few weeks and almost all have the same issue with consistency and quality. The majority of the paste is as stated 200,000 grit but this is inconsistent and there are still larger chunks that will ruin a mirror finish for my purposes and for most folks purposes the pace needs to be consistent throughout and can't have random stray grits that are larger as this will always ruin mirror finish.

Pros
  • Helps remove scratches and unsightly marks from surfaces
Cons
  • The product may not be as versatile as other available options

Apple Watch Scratches

This product did a nice job of reducing the scratches on the face of my Apple Watch. It was easy to use and I did use it multiple times but I was able to virtually eliminate the scratches!

Pros
  • Helps save money by avoiding expensive polishing services
Cons
  • The paste may require additional time and effort compared to other products

Bought to repair Apple Watch scratch

I followed instructions for use of these and can’t honestly say it made a world beating difference to the scratch on my Apple Watch. Should have taken before and after photos, but I’m not sure you’d notice a difference between two photos

Pros
  • Helps achieve a flawless finish
Cons
  • The diamond powder may not be evenly distributed throughout the paste

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Better than expected

I regularly polish my lapidary material up to 50k so wasn’t thinking that this would make much of a difference. I was pleasantly surprised it shined a rock to a mirror finish. Only drawback is I now have to go back and repolish my inventory. But I’m guessing that is a good problem to have.

Pros
  • Great for shaping and smoothing uneven surfaces
Cons
  • The product may not be suitable for use on certain types of resin or marble
