After using different types of leather slings I need a wood backed fence. With the Beavercraft Stop you get two sides of leather and compound. I have used this compound before and I can make my knife razor sharp. For this strip I use my own blend, a darker one for a more aggressive sharpening and a lighter one for polishing the blade.

This sling is very well made with a beautiful wooden handle! I was very surprised to see that this handle is made out of solid oak as I'm pretty sure it's because of the texture and weight! You can't go wrong with this belt! Thanks BeaverCraft, you did it again 👍🏻

This reminds me of the tool my dad had. I thought about making one. But. When I received the materials, I would have had the cost of them. Green lapping paste is aggressive. I'll buy a very fine lapp diamond paste for the other side as I won't have a lot of hair on my arms with the green mix. I have 3 BeaverCraft knives so I obviously tried their sling as well (I ordered a medium 14x2 sling). You can't cut wood without a belt to keep your knives razor sharp. When I received the belt, I noticed that the wood had some curvature because my straight-edged knife didn't fully touch the skin: there was a bump in the middle on one side and a hollow on the other.
