Review on Woodworking Sharpening Polishing Stropping by BeaverCraft: Effective Tool for Optimum Results by Todd Wigfall

Hand tool repair needed

I have 3 BeaverCraft knives so I obviously tried their sling as well (I ordered a medium 14x2 sling). You can't cut wood without a belt to keep your knives razor sharp. When I received the belt, I noticed that the wood had some curvature because my straight-edged knife didn't fully touch the skin: there was a bump in the middle on one side and a hollow on the other. I ended up using 80 grit sandpaper to smooth down the leather which I felt was too shiny/smooth to hold the polish anyway. Speaking of which, I think the included green polishing paste is a bit stickier than other formulations and quite finicky to use. I applied another compound to the opposite side of the line, which works great, for example. Still, I appreciate BeaverCraft and their products and use it as my main line. I like the size and weight of the wood (although I think the skin should be thicker and not as smooth). And who knows, maybe the sling sat in the hot execution center for months, causing the wood to warp and the composition to soften.

Cons
