Lansky has a leather strop that works in their sharpening system. It is very hade to put compounds on. This stuff is perfect for that. The results are fantastic! I have also used this on my full size strops. Again the results are great, but this is a very very small supply of compound. I love every thing about this stuff, except the price! For this much money, you should be getting more product. I very much believe that they pay more for the packaging then for the paste!Be aware that it’s only worth while on better steels. If it’s M390 blade, this will help you get the sharpest blade you have ever seen. If it’s a cheap "stainless steel” ( no steel type given) don’t waste your time or money. Soft steel simply can’t hold the fine edge this can help you get.I tried using this ( along with the long series of stone to get here) on a cheap " stainless steel” blade on a multi tool ( name brand for around $60). The edge seemed very sharp, but after cutting up a few cardboard boxes, the blade was dead dull. That super fine edge turned into a mess of folded over misaligned garbage. Re sharpen to to a 1000 grit,the blade held up just fine. So it’s just not worth the time to get a super polished edge on cheap steel. Just FYI, I have replaced that multi tool with one that has an upgraded steel blade and it holds up great with the high polished edge. Of course that is a much more expensive ($150) multi tool too
