Economical Functional Work Headset for Dumbo

During an extended sick leave the world changed and we were hit by a pandemic which resulted in my company forcing everyone to work from home full time work. When I returned to work a few months later, everyone was still at home but expected to return "any day now." So my manager insisted that I didn't take any gear home with me other than my laptop. I usually work with at least two monitors, but now I have to work from a tiny laptop screen. I cursed myself for getting rid of my personal monitors during my last move. But hey it's only for a few weeks, i can get this working. Just this " After the last extension for "a few more weeks" I said hell and went in search of headsets to connect to my phone. Sounds like a pretty easy task. Unfortunately mine are Ears deformed - some people have been calling them "Dumbo" ears for many years. They come in a variety of sizes and shapes and don't work well with most headphones. Damn things never stay in and fall out/out (headphones/earbuds, not ears !). Multiple times. Of course, these are exactly the kind of headphones I kept coming across in my research, until a friend suggested I look for headphones made for truckers. Finally! I found a more traditional headset, that could be connected to my cell phone. As an added bonus, it didn't cost $200-$300 for what I expect for just "a few more weeks" of use. In fact, it was so cheap that I assumed there would be quality issues if it worked at all, but I decided to give it a try anyway. And I'm glad I did! The headset is durable, charges quickly and is easy to use. to pair with your Bluetooth device and look professional if that's something you care about. The noise cancellation works, maybe too well as sometimes I'm not sure if I'm even connected to a call. longer because it's so damn quiet! I had to check with a colleague to see if it worked the first time I used it. Installing the headset on the charging dock is sometimes a little awkward as you should only install it this way to ensure it is installed correctly. for a fee. Alternatively, if that's too cumbersome, you can use a microUSB cable for direct charging. sa sweet spot for my comfort. I can't tell if I wear it for the first hour or so, but then it becomes painful in one ear until it gets used to it and eventually becomes a non-issue. Remember my stupid ears! I'll attribute this, at least in part, to my deformities, not the headset itself. Features that could be improved include: - The mic is stiff and inflexible, which is a little tiring as I'm used to flexing. her a little closer/away from me. However, it's easy to forget once it's attached to you. There is one knob used to control multiple functions. This multifunction button does multiple things and seems a little confusing because I can't easily remember what does what unless I refer to the user manual. I've chosen to ignore the multifunction button, except for turning the headset on and off, so that's another minor issue. In order to use the mute function, you have to press both volume buttons on the earphones at the same time, which is not that easy. do during a call and I'm not sure what to say if you're actually disconnected. This is another feature that I just ignore. Instead, I use the mute feature on the phone itself since I can now hold my phone down without picking it up, putting it down, or fiddling with it every few minutes. Overall, the headset does what it's designed to do and does it well. The features that aren't quite cutting edge are understandable given the price and easy to bypass. If you're looking for an inexpensive, functional headset that gets the job done,
