I think it's great that you can regulate the fineness of the salt so easily and precisely. This helps me especially when cooking. Sometimes I prefer larger flakes and other times I want smaller, easy-to-dissolve granules. The magnetic lid does not affect the functionality of the windmill, but I warn the guests and remind my husband so that there are no situations. where the mill tips over and its contents spill out from above. This has never happened before, but I can imagine how it could have happened. Not sure why the manufacturer doesn't have a screw cap or something, but again, it doesn't matter. I also like that it is attractive enough to put on the table with guests. It has a nice "weight" - definitely not like cheap plastic. Overall, I really like the quality and aesthetics of the product.
