Not compatible with 80D despite answers to questions

I bought this item by mistake because one of the questions and answers I asked was about Canon EOS 80D compatibility. It is NOT compatible with the EOS 80D. The remote physically fits into the 80D's remote release port, but any attempt to release the shutter with the remote attached, whether using the remote or the shutter button on the camera body, will result in the camera locking. You must remove and reinsert the camera battery to restart the camera. Do not accidentally buy this item for the EOS 80D.
