Also buy extension cords

Bought this to help with photos for my son's high school graduation in May. When I first got it I thought I could do without buying a longer cable, but I can't. So I had to turn right to buy a male/female extension cord. Once I figured it out I tried it with my husband and I sat on the couch and it clicked smoothly. I definitely recommend this product, but be sure to buy an extension as the original extension probably won't be long enough. Also, the price was too high.

Not compatible with 80D despite answers to questions

I bought this item by mistake because one of the questions and answers I asked was about Canon EOS 80D compatibility. It is NOT compatible with the EOS 80D. The remote physically fits into the 80D's remote release port, but any attempt to release the shutter with the remote attached, whether using the remote or the shutter button on the camera body, will result in the camera locking. You must remove and reinsert the camera battery to restart the camera. Do not accidentally buy this item for the

Works with Olympus OM DE MI MarkII

After trying other triggers that claimed to work with the MI MarkII, the Progo trigger actually works with the camera. Others that claimed to work were similar to the Progo but had the wrong connectors and were not compatible with the MI MarkII. The Progo is well made, has a long cord and like all Progo products I've used in the past, does what it says on the tin. I don't use this with autofocus so I can't rate how it performs with this device. I work great with single exposure. At this price…

  • Nothing here

Man, oh man. This wired remote shutter release really saved me a lot of time when photographing real estate. I mounted the camera on a tripod and shot with a 2 second delay to minimize camera shake. Time and beeping got on my nerves. I looked for an alternative and found this one that had good reviews and the price was phenomenal. So easy to use, just plug and play. The shutter button is similar to the camera shutter button. Half to focus and full to take pictures. It's the same time. I like…

Plug and Play, easy to use

I bought this for an old Canon Rebel and I love it. This is absolutely essential for long exposures, shop promotions or any other commercial shot that needs crystal clear focus. The switch has a fairly long cord (about a meter) and only one button. Press the button to take a shot, or hold it down to take a series of shots. This device cannot be connected to a phone because the jack is smaller than the 3.5mm headphone jack. However, because it plugs into an outlet, no batteries or replacement…

Savings like this compared to Canon's OEM remote shutter release

When I'm taking a macro photo, I have to be extremely careful when clicking the shutter button to avoid moving the camera. This remote shutter release is just what I needed. In addition, it has a dual pressure switch (halfway down to focus, all the way down to click the shutter button) and a lock slider built into the same button for when I want to take multiple shots in a row, which can also come in handy when I set up night interval photos, use sky and Magic Lantern to manipulate those shots.

Pros
  • 12-month manufacturer's warranty
Cons
  • boring packaging
