These oil heaters work great! I use them daily and try different combinations of essential oils mixed with tap water. They are great for the current cold season and have even helped my mother relieve congested breasts when I tried the combination of lavender, eucalyptus and tea tree oils. Depending on the type and amount of oil, as well as the amount of water, these heaters work well for up to 3-4 hours. I usually stand for 4 hours and just let the candles burn at the bottom until the wax runs out. For those who don't want stains on the surface of the tank, I recommend checking the tank from time to time when more than 3 or 4 hours have passed, as the essential oils will leave a dark, usually brown, stain on the surface of the tank Tanks leave refuel when all the water has evaporated. I don't find this to be a major problem as I simply wash the stains off with warm soapy water using a kitchen sponge. In most cases the stains come off but I've had a few that I just let burn too long and the burnt oil left a small permanent stain on the surface. I'm not compulsive, so I could live with these small, minor blemishes. At the moment I already have 6 of these babies and I definitely plan to buy more.
