Good knife: my feedback

Great steak knife that slices through your steak smoothly. Good weight to it, nice handle, washes well. Overall a very decent steak knife.

Pros
  • Multi-use Utility Knife - The KITORY 5" Utility Knife is smaller than a general cooking knife but larger than a paring knife, making it the perfect knife for magnitude of kitchen tasks. A utility knife is perfect for garnishing, mincing, peeling, slicing and dicing. Such as mincing shallots, onions and herbs as well as cutting vegetables or cutting small meats.
Cons
  • The blade is too wide

BIG brisket knife best in my review

If you need a big knife to cut brisket then get this thing. It's huge. It's heavy and well made.I just made brisket tacos and this knife had zero issues cutting through it. I would recommend getting a nice set of whetstones to keep it sharp. This is so heavy that it will NOT stay on my magnetic knife holder. It's also too big to go in my silverware drawer! It now has its own special place in my kitchen.Just know if you get this, that it IS that long. It's like cutting brisket with a short…

Nice, sharp Nakiri knife!

I ordered the Nakiri and I am really happy that I added this knife to my collection for my food preparation. When it arrived it was sharp, right out of the box. It's not too heavy, and for the most part it is easy to use. The handle is a little awkward, but not bad. The knife is really unique looking compared to what I have used in the past. The handle looks decent, but when you use it the handle feels a little cheaply made. It's not horrible, by any means, but it's worth pointing out. This…

Pros
  • It can be stored away safely in the accompanying gift box
Cons
  • The handle can deteriorate quickly

Kitory knives are the best!

This medium paring knife has a blade that is flat and makes full contact with the cutting board making it great for slicing mushrooms, cucumbers, carrots and other small vegetables. It would be great for coring and carving fruit as well. It is a sturdy knife, very high quality, with a really attractive wood handle. My new favorite brand. Any chef would love a gift of this.

Pros
  • It is ideal for preparing sushi, sashimi, and other Asian dishes
Cons
  • The handle can become slippery with oils or greases

Buy this one with Confidence

Exactly as described by seller. Several key measurements in photos. Thin but solid spine, Really sharp when taking a high angle slice on paper. The meat is only smoked to 100 degrees. Refrigerated over night then sliced into cubes to finish. (Raw Boston Butt) I did not need to saw or hardly slice. The knife went through with a gentle straight non slicing action. I tried to find one thing I did not like about this knife but could not. I will look for others of this brand. Hope this is helpful.

Pros
  • The blade's edge can be easily honed to razor sharpness for effortless use
Cons
  • The blade can become misaligned with prolonged use

This thing is serious cutlery.

This knife is a cross between a sword and a weapon of mass destruction.Seriously, no one will come near you while it's in your hand. It's intimidating. It's also beautiful, comfortable to hold, and heavy. The blade is stiff, gorgeous, and sharp as a razor. The packaging is definitely gift-worthy, and unless you buy a separate blade protector, it will probably be where you store your knife between uses. The tiny silicone tip cover is of little use beyond original packaging. The ONLY tiny complaint…

Pros
  • The Kitory Utility Knife boasts a superior fine-edge that makes it perfect for cutting through delicate foods
Cons
  • The edge is too sharp and dangerous

Sharp knife, not super comfy

So this is a great knife first of all for beginners in the kitchen like myself, is super sharp but it just feels small and a bit cheap in the hand; it’s like another I reviewed and the similarity is near the base of the blade where the handle starts, it’s missing cohesion with the blade to handle .If you look closely at the picture you can see at the base of the blade going onto the handle there is a thin mom sharpened piece of metal the your finger lies against; other knives put a nice curved…

Pros
  • The slim blade profile allows for easy maneuvering and precise cuts
Cons
  • The blade can develop deformities with prolonged use

Great paring knife good for me

This paring knife is way better than I expected. The overall design is absolutely beautiful, the proportion between the tang and blade length are perfect. The knife is slightly heavier than expect, considering the small size, but still a good weight that allows precise cuts with good handle size.Right out of the box, the knife is quite sharp and after a quick honing with the included sharpener it gets razor sharp.Hedge retention is great, I have been using this daily and sharpened only once.Pro…

I'm really impressed with this Kitory Slicing Knife

This might be the first review of this knife from someone that actually bought the knife. Not a Vine Voice reviewer here. Bummer. From the beginning:In pursuit of better Jerky it was time to buy a knife (12” long) that could cut thru BIG meat without sawing and tearing of the meat. A couple of weeks ago I sliced up a Tri-Tip and found my old Chef Knife to be lacking. Time to get a real knife, nothing to expensive. I can sharpen a knife far sharper then factory, so what I needed was a High Carbon

Pros
  • It is perfect for slicing and dicing all kinds of raw meats and poultry
Cons
  • The handle can be too bulky in certain situations

Good knife for smaller hands.

I like this knife for the 5 inch blade. It is a size I have not had before. Most of my knives are big chef knives or little pairing knives. I used it tonight to make quick work of some scallions. Nice and sharp out of the box. It occurs to me that the handle is smaller than my other knives so it might be comfortable for smaller hands. Not, like your five year old, but maybe somebody that has hands smaller than mine. Still a useful knife and I would recommend it.

Pros
  • The blade's sturdy construction makes it ideal for use in a commercial kitchen
Cons
  • The blade can be difficult to re-sharpen due to its hardness

I positively love the balance in this knife. If you choke up a bit and hold the blade with your thumb and forefinger, the knife becomes one with your hand. Why is this important? Simply put, it is all about control of the blade and the precision of the cuts. The blade is surgical razor sharp and cuts like a hot knife through butter. I have a collection of ceramic paring knives and although they are very sharp, I can not use them for all jobs and they tend to be quite fragile. I would recommend…

Pros
  • The knife has a well-balanced weight, preventing accidental slippage and cuts
Cons
  • The knife is not durable enough

Too sharp, nah, but.

Yup, sliced my finger first week owning this knife. Im so used to dull edges sadly with my old JA Henkels twin pro's that lost their edge. I replaced two of my Henkels with Kitory. Wow, what a difference. The edge these Kitory knives have is amazing, much sharper then the Henkels were out of the box day 1. I will definitely buy more of these.

Pros
  • Unprecedented Comfortable Control - The handle of this KITORY utility knife is made of high quality Pakkawood, ensures superior strength and durability. In order to minimize fatigue, finger numbness or pain when held continuously for a long time, the handle made of full tang and unique sloped figer shape bolster, encourages a proper pinch grip for super comfortable control and labor saving grip.
Cons
  • The knife is too light

When I ordered this, I thought the 12" reference meant the entire knife (blade + handle) was a foot long.I was wrong. The blade itself is 12 inches. The handle adds nearly six inches to that, so the entire knife is close to 18 inches long. (My husband jokes that it looks like a bayonet, and he's right.)This knife is very well-balanced. You'll need a firm grip to hold it, but the blade doesn't tug the knife downward. The handle is well-designed and feels comfortable. Cutting something…

Important add-on: my feedback

For some reason I didn’t have this size knife and was surprised how useful it’s turning out to be. Great for everything that is too big for a paring knife and too small for a chef’s knife. I use it to slice and chop and debone and anything else that comes along. This has a good feel to the knife and good weight and balance. It’s turning into a good for everything knife.

Pros
  • The knife is backed by a manufacturer's warranty, ensuring the quality of the product
Cons
  • The blade can be difficult to clean

Awesome knife 🔪 for most kitchen tasks.

5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I got this knife because I saw a few chefs using them to prepare various Asian dishes I looked up on YouTube to learn to make, and they all raved about how awesome these cleaver knives are for various cutting tasks. This cleaver really is great for chopping vegetables- onions, peppers, carrots, etc. it makes short work of dicing up a whole onion in tiny pieces really quick. What’s really great is that after you chop your veggies, you can scoop them up with the cleaver like a…

Cons
  • The blade is too short

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Available in two sizes!

The Kitory Santoku knife is available in both a 5.5” and 7” size. I wish I had both but ordered the 7” size which works really well in my kitchen. It has a Granton edge which serves to release the food you are cutting or chopping as you work. This knife is well made with three rivets and full tang so it will never break at the handle. It is also very sharp so be careful when using or storing it. I plan to order the smaller version in the future for when a large knife isn’t appropriate.

Pros
  • The blade is made to withstand heavy usage over time without dulling
Cons
  • The knife can be too expensive for the average user

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good Quality, Sharp

I’m pleased with this knife. I ordered the 5” inch utility knife, and the overall length, including the handle, is about 10”, slightly larger than a typical steak knife. I find this size knife to be the most versatile and most useful. This knife instantly became the first one grabbed out of the drawer for most tasks. This knife feels solid and comfortable in the hand. It has a good weight, and the rivets and the joints between the handle and blade are smooth. Right out of the box, it is very…

Pros
  • It is an excellent knife for outdoor cooking and camping trips
Cons
  • The handle can slip easily

My new favorite!: my feedback

Y’all. Stop thinking about it and just get it. I ordered the Nakiri knife and I honestly couldn’t be more thrilled with it. Razor sharp, excellent rocking motion for quick chopping, perfect weight. It’s my new go-to for vegetable prep, replacing the chef’s knife I’ve been using for the last eighteen years. It fits in the knife block of my name-brand set perfectly and looks similar enough to them that it blends right in (typical black with silver). I like it so much that I’m going to order the…

Pros
  • It is an ideal tool for making paper-thin vegetable and fruit slices
Cons
  • The handle can be too slippery for use with wet or greasy hands

My go to knife. - my new review

This is the most comfortable knife I own. With the thick blade and smooth handle, this has become the knife I use for everything. It showed up sharp and polished. I'm going to have this a long time and get a ton of use out of it.

Pros
  • The knife's blade is tapered for greater agility and control
Cons
  • The blade can be too long for everyday use

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very nice. good for me

This is a nice knife. Sharp. Drop forged. Triple rivet handle. Well made. So far I have 3 knives by Kitory. They all seem very nice. I am especially liking their Nakiri for chopping veggies.

Pros
  • The knife's design combines form and function, making it a valuable addition to any kitchen
Cons
  • The knife can be too difficult to use for those who are not experienced with knives
