Received this as a supplement to distance learning for my son and daughter. Okay, okay, I admit I thought it was pretty cool too! It was a nice little tech toy that I could afford and so useful that my wife didn't complain that I bought it. It works great, better than I expected and not as good as I imagined. I'd really like to be able to see the cells well with this, but I don't think that's within the capabilities of this microscope. What he does very well is a level just below. Very good video quality for me on my laptop. I have a capable computer with discrete graphics and a 12-core processor, but this should have a limited impact on these results. The fibers of the fabric, the detail on the coins, and the ability to see printed letters exactly at the level where you start seeing dots is where this microscope excels. My kids are instantly hooked and impressed with it without really thinking and preparing to learn something important ;) The potential of using it with my Android phone is impressive too, although I don't have a USB C to B or how either is always the name of the required adapter. They're less than $10 so I'll be getting one of these soon. I have a OnePlus that I bought from the company, not the carrier, and I'm pretty good at tech (bachelor's degree in CIS) so I'm sure it will work that way. I see complaints that it doesn't work with various phones, but US carrier and manufacturer restrictions can be at the root of most of these issues, and user error is likely a factor in the rest. All the issues I've come across in the past encountered was 80% or more due to device operator restrictions, 15% due to my own errors, and 5% due to manufacturer restrictions. With a lot of research time and effort, most of them can be overcome. Just a few tips for those who have trouble using Android phones. iOS will not work with this model unless you intend to write your own software, the app is only for Wi-Fi enabled models which is not the case. I have a Lightning to USB connector, so I'll test it on my iPad Pro one day. It might work, who knows, but I wouldn't waste time writing software to make it work on my own. I'm just not very good at programming and it would take me so long to do that the microscope would probably fall apart over time before I was done. If you need this feature with iOS, the Wi-Fi enabled version is the best choice.
