Sonos: I love you. I have a Playbar, a 4 One, and now a Play 3. I'm planning on getting a couple more Ones, a subwoofer (too expensive!), and a Play 5 to complete the wireless setup in our 2,600 square foot attic. ft. Despite some issues with the Ones' Alexa integration (it's gotten a lot better with updates) and occasional app crashes, I don't need another system. I attached the Play 3 to the locker across from our pool table. I felt the Play 5 was too big for its intended use and didn't want to have two more Ones in stereo (my wife is wary of all the speakers popping up) so I gave the Play a try. 3. This is the perfect spot between the One (or Play 1) and Play 5 I heard at a friend's house for comparison. The Play 3's sound is more powerful than the One, with deeper bass and more power to really "feel" the music. Of course, a pair of Units (or Play 1) in stereo will sound better for true stereo imaging and an immersive experience; However, if you're like me and just want a speaker for a specific room and not something as big and loud (or expensive) as the Play 5, then the Play 3 is a good option. Note that they look a bit dated as they are older models than the new One or Play 5 Gen 2. However, they still look pretty good and fit in well with my surroundings.
