Our kitchen is embarrassingly short on outlets so we bought this extension cord to have a few extra outlets on the worktop. We thought it would be more attractive and useful than the typical 5-way flat bar. And we were right. This is much better for us for several reasons. One of the most important is that we don't have any upward outlets in our kitchen, where splashing water is a common occurrence. Pros: 1. Despite being fairly light, this thing stays in place! Even if you load it with heavy power cords from all sides.2. The cable is heavy and strong. I missed the exact wire gauge, but they certainly didn't cut corners on copper.3. Although we didn't test the circuit protection, I feel better knowing some safety measures are in place. Disadvantages: 1. Cable flexibility is not great. If you want to route the main extension cord neatly around other items, better bring zip ties. The cable also saves quite a bit of storage space. I could probably fix that by leaving it out in the midday sun for an hour or two, but I always get a bit frustrated when the cable jacket is that hard. The rigid cable makes it even more impressive that it doesn't move around the counter.2. The switches on top appear to work well, but they clearly lack fit and finish. They tend to sit a little crooked. Functionally everything is fine. They just appear to be of lower quality than the rest of the device. Overall I think this band is worth the money if you are looking for something out of the ordinary. They pay a little more than those long flat strips, but they look better, are more accessible, and easier to keep clean and tidy in my opinion. For me it's almost 5 stars. If only this cable was a little less stiff.
