I have no idea why it took me so long to buy this magnet. No more mess in my knife. Also, it was a security issue. I had so many knives in the draw that I almost grabbed one and cut myself on the other. That prompted me to look it up at Revain. The first thing you do is throw away the screws and anchors that came with the kit. I had to screw mine to the wall because it's textured. I've noticed that all companies use the cheapest anchors they can find. When you install them, they rotate when you install the screw no matter what you do. I always have sets of anchors (metal screws) that you attach to your drill and slowly screw into the wall and then install your screw. I used 3M double sided tape along with anchoring to the wall with screws. You can hang it now. The template provided was great! The magnet to hold the knives is strong, but by no means earth magnets (earth magnets are very expensive). As you can see from my photo, it holds my heavy butcher knife very well. I bought a 24 inch magnet because I have collected and received so many knives as gifts over the years. I intend to buy a second one to keep the rest of my collection. Don't hesitate, buy it, it's worth it.
