2015 Wrangler Unlimited

Since I'm putting a larger spare tire in the back, I have less room to see the rear window. I thought this Fullvue was a good option because I can keep it on all the time unlike cameras that work with the main unit and only turn on when reversing. It's true that power wiring instructions are missing, and the videos I've watched don't seem to address that part either. I decided not to go straight into the fuse box and tapped the cigarette lighter. (Removing the dash wasn't that hard) I used the 12v harness from this site. It was $10 cheaper than the other jeep shop. On the back, after climbing through the tailgate, I used a T-bar and connected the red wire from the camera to the wire for the reverse lights. Now I have inverted grid lines. Coming to the front, I connected the black wire to a ground post in the passenger footwell. I put the red wire from the camera line into the red slot on the wire harness and the yellow wire into the brown slot on the wire harness. FAIL! That does not work. So I swapped the yellow and red wires. Nothing yet. I contacted Brandmotion and someone came right back. He suggested that I remove the black wire from the ground post and insert it into the brown slot on the wire harness. Leave the red where it was and find a constant power supply to connect the yellow wire to. I figured with a wire harness I wouldn't have to do this, so I took the red and yellow wires and plugged them both into the red connector. IT WORKS OUT. Basically a good camera. Things are definitely closer than they appear in the mirror, and the sun's reflections are strong, as are lights at night. Hope this helps someone.
