Nice simple little kit

Sounds good. I've used this to replace an iHome that has failed when it's unavailable. Only used with iPad to stream movies. It took about 15 minutes to assemble, but I'm an engineer with a full size workshop and adequate resources. (I usually assemble most of my electronics myself, I don't have BT boards that are audio oriented and not serial data oriented, that would be a waste of time, so that's what I got). The mercury switch is not needed. You can replace it with a switch or latch circuit, or just wire it up. The only goal is to completely turn off the speaker by turning it over. It's useless in my opinion since it's not a kit that includes internal power supply. The interface is simple, the BT board is in pair mode until the device detects it, no pin or anything, just open the sec BT. The device will be identified as "Bluetooth" so check your hardware address and possibly write it down or attach it to the case. Sounds ok, quality is acceptable, design is acceptable, I would say a fair price for it would be around $12. but that's just picky. I would suggest an age limit of at least 14 with experience, mainly because it involves soldering and machining a discharge sensitive IC. This will make things a lot easier given the mercury switch, so in hindsight that's a good thing. But really, if you're using direct power, you can just turn it off.

Pros
  • This electronic clear stereo speaker kit is sure to be the most interesting kit you've ever seen. This is a really nice speaker box with bluetooth audio input.
Cons
  • Was damaged
