This is the perfect gift for any traveler and I got this for a travel loving friend of mine. This comes with two scratch off maps--one US map and one world map. Both maps have scratch off flags (state and country flags) as well as the countries/states. The world maps also breaks down the US, Canada, and Australia into their separate states/provinces. (I personally don't care for this feature, but others like it. It's not a deal breaker for me.) I am quite impressed by the detail on the world map as it includes all the small island nations. (My own personal scratch off map did not include the Maldives, like it's not even on the map. Very annoying.) The material is sturdy and glossy--it can be framed and displayed prominently. It is a nice size to hang on the wall. I find these to be a great discussion piece when you are entertaining.The maps also include two paper maps that can be colored in. Not sure what else you would with the. The paper is thin--not cardstock or anything. But still fun to color for kids or adults. The maps come in a cool sturdy cardboard tube that is decorated on the outside and has a "to/from" tag printed on it, so you don't need to wrap it. The also come with a cool little pick to scratch off the countries and states.
