Review on 🚰 3M Aqua Pure Under Filter Replacement by David Herrera

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The water is crystal clear. Not many instructions

Accuracy of the product description 3/5 The main reason I give the description 3/5 stars is that it is technically not an Aqua-Pure AP-DWS1000 but an Aqua-Pure AP-DWS1000LF. The difference is that the "LF" version does not include a faucet. So the faucet you see in all product images is not included. Instead you get a shiny chrome faucet, which was good (I can post a link to the product/image of the faucet that the system comes with if anyone is curious) - but it would be nice to know, so I don't have it Done I don't need to spend 20 minutes searching the internet why I got a different faucet. Packaging 5/5 The system arrived very well packaged and all parts were wrapped in loose plastic to prevent scratches. Functionality 5/5 Functionality is the reason I bought this particular filter. While this system doesn't have the highest rating and isn't the most popular brand on Revain, I chose this system because it seemed to get the best reviews (in my opinion) when it came to water quality/flavor. It was also ranked #2 on Consumer Reports' Under Sink Water Filtration Systems. Please note that filter system #1 is about three times the price of this one. Instructions 2/5 instructions. where do i go with it It's not like the instructions are the worst you'll ever read, they're not that bad. The problem with the instructions is that they are out of date - at least 2 years old. I ended up using another Revain review (posted September 30, 2012) to find out where the "seat valve" that the instructions keep mentioning is located. Spoiler: there is no poppet valve. What you get instead is called a "feed water connector". Image feed water connection: (Photo: http://i.imgur.com/Zn2HH0f.jpg). This is a picture of what you will get instead of a poppet valve: http://i.imgur.com/sFvUoW1.jpg (My apologies for not having a better picture of the part, I didn't think I would post a review during installation. I'll go into the reasons I have this image shortly). The most important thing to know about the part you get in place of the valve seat is that both the inlet and outlet are 3/4" (this feature isn't listed anywhere on the part, I had to measure it). For your common sense, I highly recommend measuring the connections to your water lines before tackling this, my 1/2", and as a result I had to make a trip to the hardware store mid-install, so I did that Photographed part next to my flexible hose Another point regarding the instructions that I would like to address is the "blue hose" that is mentioned in the faucet assembly, there is no blue hose because you get a different faucet than that that the product actually comes with is not a blue hose (it's white and attached to the faucet) Key takeaways about the Aqua-Pure AP-DWS1000 drinking water system: - This is a really great filtration system - The instructions are out of date If you know , when you start installing that they are not the best, this makes the adjustments process easier - saddle valve NO - you can put it in yourself (Note: I didn't have to drill a hole in the countertop). since I replaced the soap dispenser under the sink, I can't say if it's possible to drill a hole with my own hands). Edit: I found the standard photo for the water intake and added it to the part where I don't mention it. be a poppet valve.
