I had a needle and thread ready to sew the top pleat when it arrived. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the manufacturer took note of the complaints and sewed down (instead of glued) the top pleats (see photo)! I have a big head (about 23.5) and I wear pigtails. The lid fits with some space. It will likely fit an afro size up to 6 inches. If you have loose hair, you will most likely need to manually stretch the cap. TIP to make it bigger: Lightly mist the cap with water, stretch over your regular style and it will grow larger as it dries. You can also use a rolled up towel in place of your head and just leave it on overnight let dry. In general I am very satisfied. Hope that helps :)
