I bought it for a long trip. I'm 5ft 1in and my seat is too high to use the center armrest in my 2012 Honda Pilot. I usually have to use a small pillow to support my arm on long rides, but I thought it would be safer. I LOVE THIS PRODUCT. It's height adjustable, can be slid back and forth depending on where I need support, and the storage space is perfect for loose change, dollars, pens, or whatever! Since it can be moved back and forth, it doesn't interfere with my seat belt or shifter. The interior of my car is black so the black looks like part of the original interior. What a simple idea that makes a HUGE difference in my comfort when cruising down the freeway (or now that I'm back home at the grocery store). I recommend this car gadget. I'll never take it out of the car (but if I did, it would be so easy to take it out and then put it back in!) Cool beans!
