Review on Portable Newsoul 1080P External Monitor with Kickstand, FreeSync, Glossy Screen, Flicker-Free, and Built-In Speakers by Chad Schmidt

Nice monitor, very portable.

This monitor exceeded my expectations. The image is absolutely gorgeous and the quality and subtlety of the design is far beyond what I expected for the price. My main goal when ordering a portable monitor was that I could use it as a second screen for work when I was traveling. My laptop is a Macbook Air 2020, so the screen is only 13 inches. I'm an artificial intelligence engineer, so having many windows for different development applications is important for my productivity. I work remotely, so I travel often and work in different locations outside of my home office. The monitor was plug and play connected to my laptop. with the laptop. It was powering the screen, but the brightness was a little low and the brightness was pretty high even after turning it on (I was outside, to be honest). My guess is that the total power consumption for maximum brightness was more than my laptop could handle. After I plugged the monitor into an outlet, the brightness increased sharply and the monitor actually started charging my laptop. I often work outside at my shaded desk on the porch and was able to see the screen clearly even under the Florida sun. This is my first QLED monitor and the difference is noticeable. I'm not a designer so I'm not sure about the color accuracy of the CT scan, but the image definitely stands out more than an IPS panel and the blacks are very deep. I bought this monitor not only for work but also for watching movies while traveling from my phone (Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra). I used the USB-C to USB-C cable that came with it. I was stunned to see how amazing the colors and realism were. I didn't have any problems with HDCP either. I used Netflix with other monitors and got the error "Display is incompatible with HDCP 2.0". There are no problems with this. The speakers are pretty small - I couldn't imagine using them myself. This isn't a problem for me though as my Macbook speakers are great and the display has an aux port if needed. I also had no problem with Bluetooth with the original device (both laptop and phone). One of the great advantages of this monitor is its portability. The top, left and right sides of the screen are almost frameless so it doesn't take up too much space. It's also thinner than I expected. You can see in the picture that the top 3/4 of the monitor is almost as thin as my Macbook Air. It gets a bit thicker at the bottom where the ports are, but it's still very thin. Also very easy. Fits easily in my backpack in my laptop bag. The body of this screen is good, although the magnet is not very strong. It hasn't been dropped once while I was only using the case to support the monitor, so overall it's solid enough for my use. If this is a problem for some, there is an additional extendable support on the back of the monitor. I didn't see any VESA mounting holes on the back, but that didn't really apply to my use case. This monitor is optimized for portability, which was the main thing for me. All in all a great product that is worth the money. This wasn't my first NewSoul product - I had previously given my dad one of their 2k portable monitors for Christmas. He has a similar job and has found the monitor helps when working remotely. While it was pretty impressive, I found it even more impressive. Or rather, a better fit for my use case. Overall I had a great experience with your company and the customer service is fantastic. I emailed them for an extra cable and they promptly refunded me.
