Review on Taco 006 B4 Bronze Circulator 4 Inch by Jason Flippen

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Finally hot water! for rough installations

My old 38 year old taco circulation pump for my hot water tank finally broke. I did some research and found that they no longer produce the exact model to replace it. I decided to stick with this model hoping it would work (the price was worth it). Since the old pump had a vertical design and threaded connections. There was a diversion of the piping and a copper tube had to be soldered into the pump itself. From now on, connections, Pex or Sharkbite fittings work perfectly. After everything was in place and the tank refilled with water, I turned on the power and was horrified that it didn't work at all. It was so quiet that I didn't realize it was running because of the sound of the boiler until I put my hand on the motor and felt it hum. Works great and easily withstands long hot showers. It's been almost 4 months since I installed it and it's still as quiet as the day I installed it.

Pros
  • Flow range: 0-10 gpm; Head range: 0-9 feet.
Cons
  • ill thought out
