We think it's fun for a kid to learn and practice tricks to please parents and other kids. On the other hand, there are many tricks and detailed and illustrated instructions. This is a good age for this but be wary of younger children for whom a 6 year old can step in. it is him/herself. Sponge Bunny: Larger ones should be smaller to make them easier for small hands to handle. The magic coin box trick works well, well done, and kids will love to work with it. You may be able to put real coins in the box to work with. And they look better than the plastic coins that come with them. Yes, magic tricks are made from cheaper materials. Despite the cheap materials, it's not that bad. The ball in the vase trick is where an adult can come in handy. Ours took a little extra adult arm strength to put together. This is a fun trick! The x-ray vision trick is a very good trick! Some of these tricks, if followed, can inspire a child to go to the magic shop and buy a more expensive and impressive version. Adults avoiding that bag of tricks, I see where you're coming from. But it was intended for the beginner to gain experience and spark interest. The simplicity of the tricks offers a good start. Many items can break, like cardboard tricks. More durable items like X-Ray Box and Coin Vase are very good. The rings are poorly made, but once you learn the trick you can get a better ring if you want to continue. The optical illusion trick is cute. Colorful objects can be dazzling to little eyes. We adults can be a little more jaded. Again, this is not made for us. We would of course like to see this set upgraded with carefully selected, higher quality materials. It was fun doing rope and stick tricks. A beautiful addition will be a magic handkerchief with stars.
