I really struggled the first couple times I tried to use these, but I feel like I'm finally starting to get the hang of it. As another commenter said, you have to apply the liner and lashes first before any other makeup, or they won't stay. It's a little annoying to put on eyeshadow with the lashes in the way, but it's not impossible. And the eyeshadow does help to mute the harsh black color of the liner.I have to take care when applying the liner to keep the line as thin as possible; otherwise, when I open my eyes fully and my eyelids crease, it will get on my upper lids and the only way to get it off is to use makeup remover and start over. It takes at least 2 coats, and no matter how long I wait, the liner always feels tacky to the touch.When I apply the lashes, I don't feel like it is magnetizing so much as sticking to the tacky liner, but it does seem to get the job done. Once I place them, I gently squeeze them to ensure they stick. I'm still having trouble getting it to stick in the inner corners, but I think it's because I didn't make the liner thick enough there.For removal, I use my nail to get under the inner corner of the lash (which wasn't sticking anyway) and pull them off. It does take the liner off with the lashes. I used the Julep Oil Cleanser and a warm washcloth to get all the liner off; it takes a good bit of scrubbing and sometimes I still have to use a fingernail to scrape off some of the remaining liner.Overall, they work and look great, but there is definitely a learning curve.
