Review on πŸ”Œ Cable Matters USB to Ethernet Adapter: Reliable 10/100 Mbps Network Support – Black Edition by Marvin Breezy

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great little USB to Ethernet adapter, especially for Windows devices without built-in Ethernet.

I've used about 60-70 of these adapters so far, mostly with Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga and Microsoft Surface Pro devices, and they've worked like am Clockwork works. , every time. When used with Windows 7, 8, and 10, it was truly plug-and-play, with driver detection and installation taking seconds (you don't have to wait for a Windows update to do the trick, and you don't have to check obscure websites search obscure drivers if Windows Update does not find any suitable drivers). The speeds appear to be the same as any 10/100 adapter, even when downloading more than a gigabyte of Microsoft updates. Build quality is decent for a $10 device, and I like the green link light. All in all, if you need a wired Ethernet adapter for one of the ever-growing number of tablets, ultraportables, and convertible tablet devices on the market, the Cable Matters USB 2.0 10/100 Ethernet Adapter will get the job done without the to break the bank.

Pros
  • Portable Ethernet USB Adapter weighs less than 1 ounce with 6" spade to connect to a computer; A wired USB LAN adapter is more secure than most Wi-Fi connections
Cons
  • No insurance
