As far as I can tell, this epilator has exactly the same mechanism as other Silk-épil 5 and 7 series models (heads and attachments complete interchangeable) – the only difference is that it has a slightly different case and of course it works on the mains and not on the battery. I prefer the latter as the battery on other models isn't replaceable and doesn't last more than 45 minutes at best. If you are very groomed or have thicker hair, this will make you feel rushed. Of course, the lack of a battery also means that you can't use it when it's wet, and to be honest I'm fine with that, because the wet function is basically a gimmick. Aside from the fact that wet hair is weak and prone to breakage, waxing is a slower process compared to shaving, so you probably don't want to do it in the shower (which seems to be the main benefit). As for the functionality of the tweezers, as said, it's exactly the same as the other Silk-épil 5 and 7 models. All the internal parts are plastic, which looks a bit cheap (you can really see how chewed up the gears are when you look inside after a few months of use) and can (?) contribute to the noise level. But otherwise it works fine. The head has the standard 40 tweezers and supports several different cases and attachments. Speaking of attachments, the shaving head isn't very good; it's clumsy and cheap and just doesn't shave well. This will likely help you in an emergency, but if you really need a razor, get a real one. In general I like it. It comes pretty close, it lasts long enough for the price, and it has light. The power button on this model is annoying compared to some others, but it's no big deal. A few general tips: Epilating hurts at first, especially on sensitive areas like your armpits and bikini line, but you get used to it. to him after a while. I've been doing this for so long that I actually find it quite relaxing, almost like a massage. - I've never found a reason to use the low speed setting. Anyway, I feel like it hurts MORE at low speed than at high speed. - If the hair you want to epilate is long, trim it first. If you don't, it will take longer and potentially cause more pain. Exfoliate before and/or after epilation. If you find the pimples popping up (which shouldn't be), wash your skin with soap and water and maybe use a little astringent. If you need lube, apply baby powder or something similar. DO NOT use lotion, it will make your skin sticky. For the same reason, do not epilate on wet skin. Comb your hair out of the epilator regularly. If you're lazy like I used to be, the hair will actually push through the holes in the cavity below and clog the gears. You have to disassemble it to clean it.
