If I rate this on the quality of the ingredients this is above average Dog. Food. I'm not new to this as I have previously used Nutro with their venison recipe until it was hard to come by, then switched to Nutro with lamb which my dog didn't like and ended up with Nutro duck where it too got a lot of weight. After a year on the Hill Metabolic Diet my golden retriever is almost back to his ideal weight and I want to go back to Nutro as the best food. To keep his weight under control, I bought Nutro Ultra Weight Management. The ingredients are hopefully accurate, great, and reportedly sourced from trusted local farmers across the United States. All in all I would give this meal 5 stars. However, 3 stars for my disappointment with the pellet size. Reminds me of big rice chips. If you have a dog like a golden retriever that's known for literally inhaling food, you'll understand. For dogs with this irresistible habit, pellets large enough to get them chewing are extremely important. Swallowing food and taking in too much air is the main cause of gout, which is fatal. Dog food manufacturers should be aware of this. And think about it; A dog on a diet is hungry and swallows even faster, so this is the last type of food that should be a small piece.
