These bulbs are bright and work great! My husband and I used to be big fans of 4000,000 (Kelvin) incandescent bulbs because with age the soft white (usually 2,700,000) becomes too yellow to be seen well and - at least in the past - 5,000,000 was too hell. So some time ago bought 4000k. HOWEVER, we recently bought a house with very high ceilings. Although the lights are at the usual height above the kitchen worktop etc, I never realized until now that 5000K bulbs are best for very high ceilings. Very high ceilings mean you need very bright light to bounce off the ceiling and illuminate all the extra space above your head (which ultimately affects the light you can see). We are looking for 5000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 lumens in large outdoor areas with very high ceilings. we perform great. I am very happy with them and will be giving up our previous brand because I like how they work so much better. I also felt that the $12.99 we paid for 8 bulbs was good value. I am very satisfied with these lamps and can recommend them! I write honest reviews to help others make informed purchases because I read reviews myself and know how helpful they can be.
