Review on Revitalize Your Brushes with Winsor & Newton Brush Cleaner & Restorer - 4 oz. Bottle by Kristen Simpson

This is not a free product review. I recommend this product for removing solvent based paints and sealers from resin. I have been using Winsor & Newton Brush Cleaner & Restorer for several years now. I like to buy it in the large 32 oz. bottle which is great value for money. This cleans the brushes great, but I mainly use it to remove previous paintwork (face up) from my articulated Asian dolls (BJDs) that I paint and glue on myself. I use Mr. Super Clear matte/flat to seal resin, then acrylic paint, watercolor pencils and chalk pastels, then seal each layer of my work. Sometimes I want to repaint my dolls. Winsor & Newton Brush Cleaner Restorer removes sealant and all my other products from the doll without damaging the resin material. Nothing else works either. I also sometimes use Mr. Clean Magic Eraser for stubborn stains and a toothbrush for small wrinkles. A cosmetic cotton pad usually helps a lot. Residues can be easily washed off with water and dishwashing detergent without fragrances or dyes. After this treatment, my dolls remain as clean as if they were just demolded by their artist/maker. I also love Winsor & Newton Brush Cleaner & Restorer for cleaning airbrush parts when I disassemble them for internal cleaning. Winsor & Newton Brush Cleaner & Restorer can be reused as I sometimes keep used product in a small glass jar. The product used is well suited for particularly dirty work, as this product sometimes requires several washes to remove old paint. I have only one problem with Winsor & Newton Brush Cleaner & Restorer. It melts my gloves and leaves an even bigger mess than I originally had. I work in the medical field and I wash my hands often. My hands are a little rough, even at the best of times. The chemicals in Winsor & Newton Brush Cleaner & Restorer (probably ethanol) dry out my hands even more and cause a lot of discomfort. All types of gloves I have at home including nitrile and latex, melt on contact with Winsor & Newton Brush Cleaner & Restorer. I contacted the manufacturing company and asked a question about this list to find out what glove material can be worn. and never got an answer. This gives me the choice of doing extra damage to my hands every time I use the product or avoiding one of my favorite hobby activities. Both options don't make me very happy. I would like a suggestion for a chemically compatible glove material that could be used in the future. Thank you for reading my review.
