This remote will turn on/off Yolink devices only. It communicates directly with the Yolink device. The remote control does not use a Yolink hub. Please note that this remote will NOT work with Alexa. It's very easy to set up. Press the settings button on the device and then press the "on" button on the remote control to pair/match on the remote control. The indicator on the remote control flashes to show that it is connected. Since I use it, every few weeks or so, sometimes more often, my ISP box needs to be reset, ie turned off, outside the house. then back. In this case, Alexa is useless to turn devices on and off. I use a Yolink connector on the provider box. I press the shutdown button corresponding to the plug to remotely turn off the ISP box, wait a minute and turn it back on. Much easier than going to the utility room, moving items on the shelf, unplugging, waiting, plugging back in. works great so far with no problems.
