The label on the bottom clearly states 12 volts and the internal fan is marked 12 volts, but the external power connector is only 5 volts and is unmarked. 12 volts burn the card. When the fan is running on the nominal 12 volts, it runs much faster, but the cheap plastic case amplifies the fan's vibration and makes a lot of noise. When the fan is powered by your laptop's USB port, it runs so slowly that it's of little use. There are many laptop coolers at Revain that cost less and cool your computer better. Do not buy this overpriced item.
