Solving the problems of a powerful video card with a clumsy cooling system: ∞MSI Afterburner. ∞ Set Powerlimit to 80% or lower (dancing with a tambourine in manual undervolting mode did nothing - read below about override GPU settings). ∞ Performance does not drop, but noiselessness in OPTIMIZED games and applications (BUT! ) ∞ There are games that ignore the limits: FrostPunk loads the graphics card to 80 degrees already in the start menu, somehow overriding the settings of MSI Afterburner. But this is a known issue with the specific game. A similar problem of GPU overload occurred a few years ago among World of Tank players after changing the game engine - one of the bloggers even had a video card burned out live. ∞ Some will say that the problem of GPU overload by the game is not a GPU problem. Formally, yes, but you will have to play under the howl of fans and the rattling of a dangling cable))). ∞ It is better to take a version with 3 fans and a normal backplate for heat dissipation. I have a cool Cooler Master Cosmos II case with completely replaced turntables (100% Noctua, 9 pieces), the video card is blown directly by 2 fans, but this does not help. The video card itself overheats from the inside.
