If I wanted something that would leak I would buy a strainer

UPDATE: Bought on 10/21/18 and permanently deleted this POS from the cart in September 2019. I've added two new photos to show how the leak has gotten worse over the year. This model was poorly constructed. I've never had a leak like this from a coffee pot. I replaced it with Bonavita (via Revain) and am very happy. I have had 2 other previous incarnations of this model and bought this one because I really like this design and the old one is worn out. Now I've had this new one for 3 months so I think it had a good test. ADVANTAGES: No glass decanter to break. The digital programming of the coffee and iced coffee strength, various "keep warm" settings and a timer are easy and convenient to use. Beeps loudly when the coffee is ready. Makes coffee pretty quick. Even after 2 hours of operation in "Heating" mode, the coffee still has a pleasant taste. Fits under the kitchen cabinet above the sink. I like the "push to pour" lever - it comes out well. Bright internal numbers in the chamber make it easy to see when you've poured the right amount of water. CONS: The water/coffee room has been redesigned and I can't say I'm a fan of it. It's harder to clean than the old model, and if you pour water too hard (like I did) it will spurt out when it hits the bar. The water/coffee chamber no longer fits the base snugly - I don't know why, but there is a small gap along the rear vertical portion. The cup holder under the coffee lever is incredibly small. A normal sized cup cannot sit comfortably there. The greatest AGAINST IS LEAKAGE. (see photo) The amount of coffee that comes out is proportional to the number of cups made, ie if I make 10 cups much more comes out than if I make 4. It seems to leak when the lever is pressed to get coffee. OTHER NOTES: The cover was removable on the old model. This model has a hinged lid. Because I have to move the coffee maker back and forth (due to lack of countertop space), I sometimes accidentally press the clock/timer buttons due to their location. The cup holder is easy to remove for cleaning, but tends to be loose (a minor thing). CONCLUSION: Not worth the money, leaks and takes a lot of effort to keep the countertop from getting dirty.

  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Long time
