You need to do 5 full turns of teflon tape around the male part of the gauge before you put the garden hose adapter on it and then pull it all the way down, it seems you can't turn that any further or it stops. This was the only way to stop the leak. The main reason for the leak is that you have a steel fitting and a brass fitting, both of which must be the same material, which is why I gave four stars. Also refer to the label on the side of the gauge for drilling a vent hole in the rubber plug at the top of the gauge or cutting off the tip of the plug. From this point on, the pressure gauge must be installed or held vertically so that no oil escapes. If you don't vent, the gauge will go high first and then gradually lower, but that can't be good for the gauge. Everything seems accurate, but I haven't checked with other sensors.
