This light is exactly what I expected, another decent tool from DeWalt. As a contractor, I rarely have enough light for interior design, especially in the basement. The DeWalt tripod lamp does help, but it doesn't point down at all when setting up the base, and the two beam angles help with miter adjustment, so the combination of high and low light is a godsend. My only minor disappointment in this light is, as others have pointed out, that DeWalt could have been a bit more creative with the mounting options. The low tripod I sometimes use is tiltable which eliminates the need to attach it to the handle, so I would have preferred to attach the tripod to the base of the light so the handle can be moved while working. on the other side of the room. Lifting without a handle is cumbersome, especially with the added weight/bulk of the tripod hanging underneath. Even if the shape of the flashlight would make it more comfortable to grip without a handle, that would be a plus. All it takes is a few shallow indentations on the back of the case to make it easier to grip with your fingers. I can try fitting a 1/4-20 nut into the base like I did on the DeWalt BlueTooth turntable. This way its grip is available when it is attached to the tripod.
