Product received broken - short return window

Ordered a birthday present just over a month before the party. The box was not opened or inspected prior to packing for the recipient. After the gift was opened at the party and we put in new batteries, the ball didn't work and something inside the device rattled. Unfortunately, the return period was only 1 month from the date of purchase. Lesson learned: Check products now!
