I fish at the weekend and have never used a fish finder. I settled on this entry-level portable handheld model. I'm not disappointed. I use this unit on my Pelican Bassraider 10E primarily for depth reading, drips, etc. in 2-20 foot deep ponds in the New England woods where I fish. I checked that the device read depth and it was accurate to within a few inches. Most of the time it indicated the fish were in the zone, I caught and caught more fish. It has a nice little body and is portable and battery operated. For me, these were important features. Try it, you will like it.
