I had two water incidents in three weeks and they were unrelated. I just installed a LYNX 7000 about two months ago and sadly didn't install any flood sensors. The flood cost more than $25,000. I bought two of these units - one for the basement and one behind the fridge. VERY easy to install and since they've updated these flood sensors, just connect two wires, program them twice into the main unit (once for flood and once for temperature - if you want both) then remove the sticker from the back and place them. on the floor or on the wall (I went on the floor) and attach 5821 to the wall and bam - you are protected from flooding. Now I feel much better with them as I often don't even go down to my basement and now have 24 hour surveillance there. In general, everything is simple and quite cheap. You can find these devices cheaper, just for reference, but I won't turn them down for that.
