Easy and fun assembly, works well

I was pleased with how well organized this antenna kit was. Since I think reading instructions is a sign of weakness, I started building from a clean, logical starting point, found the parts well arranged, and set to work. I assembled it in about 25 minutes. (Okay, I took a quick look at the instructions. Keep it a secret.) This antenna is factory tuned to a wide range of VHF and UHF frequencies, so I set it up quickly and roughly. I had to guess the gamma matching process, but I found tiny adjustment screws and moved the "tuning bar" up and down on the VHF converter. I'll do better in the future, but I needed to go live for the ARES network and didn't take the time to set it up carefully. It will be later. Since my RigExpert antenna analyzer only covers the VHF bands, I can't give any information about UHF. The photos tell the story: very reasonable SWR on the 2m ham band. With this antenna pointed at a repeater 35 miles away with a 5 watt handheld, I get excellent signal reports.
