Really great value!

Well made and easy to assemble. It's only 23 feet tall, but it really stretches! Excellent deflection from both the side and rear.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Only available in black

good antenna for its price

Worked flawlessly. Easily survived high winds during an Oklahoma thunderstorm. I recommend and will buy again in the future.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Pretty good value portable AV

Performance seems pretty good, build quality is above average out of reach of repeaters but seems to need a bit of tweaking to work really well on 2m

Pros
  • It's great
Cons
  • Easy maintainability

The lowest SWR I could get was 2 on VHF. I need this to work on 162 and get at least 6-8 SWR. Gamma matching didn't seem to play a big role. The antenna is very cheap and the only thing that is well made is the gamma adjustment system. The antenna costs $100 and includes about $10 in materials.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Minor issues

Must match some Revit

Antenna required for ARES training. Since I didn't want to search for details and build it, I decided on this one. Wrong move! Depending on the frequency, the SWR was well above 4.64:1 to 6.5:1. I tried setting it up and the set screws were snapped from the "factory". I've built several antennas from dipoles, half wave strain gages, yagi tape measure, quarter wave from romex scrap. That antenna sucks! As for the reviewer who says no one understands the antenna.

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Weight

Antenna measurements

The measured SWR is very good in the UHF 440-450 MHz band, but in the VHF band the antenna has no SWR below 2:0 to 1 in the 144-148 MHz band. Offer. The lowest SWR measurements appear at 140MHz. Adjusting the jumper on the side of the VHF antenna does not produce the best or lowest SWR in the 144-148MHz band. The SWR was well above the normal readings of 2:1. My measurements were taken using a NANO VNA-F with a 3ft RG-316 precision cable and proper calibration procedures. I could also test this

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Quick start guide

Easy and fun assembly, works well

I was pleased with how well organized this antenna kit was. Since I think reading instructions is a sign of weakness, I started building from a clean, logical starting point, found the parts well arranged, and set to work. I assembled it in about 25 minutes. (Okay, I took a quick look at the instructions. Keep it a secret.) This antenna is factory tuned to a wide range of VHF and UHF frequencies, so I set it up quickly and roughly. I had to guess the gamma matching process, but I found tiny…

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Not sure
